Simple Step-by-Step Art Journaling

Materials:

· Watercolors

· Watercolor Paper cut to desired size

· Brushes of various sizes (I use round brushes)

· Jar of Water (wash brushes)

· Blotter or Paper Towels

· Black Waterproof Pen (I use acrylic)

1. Begin with only water on your brush and, from the top of the page down, brush water over the entire page.

2. Choose a color with much water, and paint an area. Continue with a couple more colors for your background. Clean your brush between colors.

3. Use a Blow Dryer on low to dry your composition.     

4. With the waterproof pen, draw a picture of your choice.

5. With your damp brush, choose a color and add it to your painting within your design.   

6. Remember, wash out your brush between colors to keep them pure.

7. Add any details that will enhance your page. 

With your waterproof pen, add phrases, and words, or maybe choose stamps, then sign your work. You can choose to date your work
